Reasons For The Odor Of Car Air Conditioning

Car air conditioning not only affects the comfort of our vehicles, but also has a close relationship with health. Many car enthusiasts find that car air conditioning has a strong odor when it is first turned on. So how can we remove the odor from car air conditioning? To remove the odor from the air conditioning system, it is necessary to first understand the reasons. One common cause is mold in the evaporator, and another is contamination of the air conditioning filter and air conditioning pipes. In this case, it not only fails to protect the cabin environment, but also causes secondary pollution to the air inside the car.

1. The air conditioning filter is too dirty

Many car enthusiasts believe that opening the internal circulation can save the service life of the air conditioning filter, but in fact, whether the air conditioner is opened for internal circulation or external circulation, the air will flow through the filter, consuming the service life of the filter. Over time, the filter element will become dirty and produce an unpleasant odor.

2. Foreign objects in the air duct

In addition to the above issues, there is also a possibility of dead mice or insects in the air duct. When the vehicle cannot be parked for a long time, small mice may accidentally enter it. Additionally, when the vehicle starts the external circulation, many small insects will also enter the pipeline with the air inlet. These little creatures have no return, and the decaying bodies will produce a foul odor, which will breed a lot of bacteria and fungi.

3. Evaporation box moldy

During the operation of the air conditioning system, the moisture in the air will form condensate when it encounters a cooler evaporation tank. Some of the water is discharged from the vehicle through pipelines, but there is still some water left on the surface of the evaporator. The combination of these moisture and dust in the pipeline can easily generate mold and fungi, and the humid environment becomes their breeding ground. Mold and fungal clusters will produce a foul odor that is emitted into the car through the air outlet. Not only does it have an unpleasant odor, but it can also cause certain damage to the human body.
